History of Dolyk & Zeiher Co. LPA

In 1977, Kevin J. Zeiher joined a law firm founded in 1948 by his father Arthur W. Zeiher and George C. Steinemann. The office was located at 409 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, on property now occupied by the Sandusky Public Library. In 1977, other members of the law firm known as Steinemann, Zeiher, Beamer and Schell included Robert Beamer and Larry Schell. Joining the firm in 1978 were John Frankel and Zack Dolyk. In the early 1960's a Vermillion office was opened and managed by Larry Schell. Zack Dolyk, from Amherst, Ohio, went to work in the Vermillion office and took over its operation upon the retirement of Larry Schell.
In 1984, Steinemann, Zeiher, Beamer and Schell merged with Didelius, Holzapfel, Buckingham and Waldock to become Buckingham, Holzapfel, Zeiher, Waldock and Schell, and acquired the property at 414 Wayne Street, formerly known as the Business Women's Club. The new firm operated out of the Wayne Street property and the Vermillion office.
Members of the new firm in 1984, included:
Thomas Buckingham
Richard Holzapfel
Arthur Zeiher
Fred Waldock
Larry Schell
Lee McDermond
Kevin Zeiher
John Frankel
Zack Dolyk,
and Stuart O'Hara.
At one point, the firm consisted of thirteen (13) attorneys including associates Troy Wisehart, Duff Milkie, and Linda Fritz Gasteier.
In 2000, after the retirement of several senior partners, the firm merged with Lucal and McGookey to become Buckingham, Lucal, McGookey & Zeiher. Partners included Kevin Zeiher, John Frankel, Jim McGookey, Zack Dolyk, Dan McGookey, Troy Wisehart, Duff Milkie, and John Ball. David Claus was also employed as an associate.
In January 2007, Dolyk & Zeiher, Co. L.P.A. was formed when Kevin J. Zeiher and Zack Dolyk decided not to join their partners in merging with another law firm. The new firm will have offices located at 165 East Water Street in Sandusky and 1513 State Route 60 in Vermillion.
Kevin Zeiher and Zack Dolyk are building a new law firm, in the fashion of the firm they joined in the late 1970's. Dolyk & Zeiher intend to provide a general practice of law, concentrating on Personal Injury, Domestic Relations, Traffic, Real Estate, Probate Administration, Estate Planning and Civil Trial Practice, for which Kevin Zeiher is certified as a Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocates.
Kevin Zeiher is the son of an attorney, Arthur W. Zeiher and the grandson of a masonry contractor, Peter Zeiher, who was the primary contractor of the State Theatre, Jackson Junior High School and Firelands Hospital. Kevin Zeiher was a member of the Downtown Waterfront Development Board, and currently serves on the Bay Front Corridor Committee. "I have a deep and abiding interest in the well-being of downtown Sandusky and believe that you must practice what you preach. We located our new office at 165 East Water Street in downtown Sandusky because I would not want to be anywhere else."
W. Zack Dolyk has practiced law for the past 28 years and is a civic leader in Vermillion as President of the Chamber of Commerce, President of the YMCA, and President of Rotary. Mr. Dolyk will manage the Vermillion office for Dolyk & Zeiher Co. LPA.
