KEVIN JOHN ZEIHER
QUALIFICATIONS
Kevin Zeiher was admitted to the practice of law before the Ohio Supreme Court in 1977 and is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Kentucky, the U.S. 6th District Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States in 2007.
Mr. Zeiher is currently Special Counsel for Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray, and he has served in that same capacity for previous Ohio Attorneys General Jim Petro, Betty Montgomery, Lee Fisher, Tony Celebreeze and William Brown.
Mr. Zeiher is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys. He has been designated a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has the highest rating (AV) from the nationwide attorney reference company Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Zeiher has represented thousands of clients in civil, criminal and domestic relations cases and has tried over 350 jury trials over the past 30 years in 14 counties and the Federal Courts of Ohio and Kentucky. He has also served as a mediator, an arbitrator, an Acting Judge in the Sandusky Municipal Court and a Magistrate in the Erie County Court.
As a volunteer, he was Chairman of the Board of Park Commissioners for Erie Metro Parks for five years, and he was a park commissioner from 1988, resigning in 2003 to run for office. He also volunteers his time on the Sandusky Cemetery Board, the Sandusky Law Library Association and the City of Sandusky Bay Front Corridor Committee.
In 1982, he was selected Young Man of the Year and in 2003 received the Distinguished Service Award from the Sandusky Jaycees. In 1985, he received the Erie County Bar Association Distinguished Service Award. He has served as Campaign Chairman and Division Chairman of the United Way of Erie County, a board member for the YMCA, the Erie County Public Defenders Board, the Merry-Go-Round Museum, Downtown Waterfront Development, the Sandusky Port Implementation Committee, Zoning Code Board of Appeals and Sandusky Concert Association.
